The internet used to be funny, provocative, intelligent, well learned and very interesting to look at and hear in general. Every page would have rings and links and you could spend days following links in your 64 megabyte browser. It was all lead by American universities. Where is the claim from the US to have created Internet ? Internet was awesome and everybody knew it was the American universities backed by the military that built it. Finally an army doing useful things beyond geo-political murder. My hopes were strong when the US created the Internet back in the 90's.
Now I cry when I see stupid content on ad-revenue based social medias. Fuck the ads, really, they make us stupid ! The browsers are at 400 megabytes for each page which are mostly more empty than the universe itself. They all want to look big and corporate and nothing ex-filtrates from the private hands to the public domain.
Where will that lead us ?
Social media is wrong. We do not want to know everything about everyone. We want to know about what brings us the future. For now it might look like it's AI all the way but it's not : AI's don't know what you want, humans do. Current robots fail hard and text generators are just text generators, might be useful to play a text-based RPG game but for research we're not there yet at all and might never be as human development is an exponential number from a very large base (our dictionnary) and every year it grows more. Publication might be at an all time high forever now. Just growing and nothing else. Like bitcoin :)
